Rooms: Large High Double Ensuite and Large Highest Double Ensuite rooms each have a private bathroom with toilet and washbasin, plus a desk, wardrobe and under-bed storage. Large Highest rooms have a small double bed. High rooms share a kitchen and living space with 3-5 flatmates, and Highest rooms with 3-4. Shared kitchens have an oven, hobs, fridge freezer, microwave, breakfast bar and sofa. Each flat has a vacuum cleaner, mop, iron and ironing board. Unite also lists studios with private kitchens, a one-bedroom apartment and accessible rooms.

What's included: Rent covers heating, water, gas, electricity, wifi in the flat and communal areas, and contents insurance. There is no security deposit. A £250 advance rent payment secures the room and is deducted from the first instalment. Students with a home address outside the UK can pay in 1, 2 or 4 instalments, and UK-based students in 1 or 3. Direct bookings need a guarantor aged over 25. For international bookings, the guarantor must accept the agreement within 5 days. Visa, Visa Electron, Mastercard, Maestro and UnionPay cards are accepted.

Getting around: Shadwell station, about a 5-minute walk, serves the London Overground and the DLR in Zone 2. Unite says Goldsmiths at New Cross is 22 minutes away by London Overground. The DLR runs from Shadwell to Greenwich. Queen Mary University (Whitechapel) is 0.6 miles away, Hult International Business School 0.7 miles and Northeastern University London 0.8 miles. Arden University (Tower Hill Campus) is 0.9 miles away. Queen Mary's Mile End campus is 30 minutes by public transport or 10 minutes by bike. The city centre is 3.2 miles away.

In the building: The common room has a TV and pool table and opens onto a private courtyard. A roof terrace looks out over Canary Wharf and the City. There is laundry, bike storage and recycling. Security includes CCTV, secure access, an onsite service team and 24/7 assistance. Pets are not allowed.
