Mugberia Gangadhar Mahavidyalaya (MGM) The College was founded on donation collected from the local people to serve the poor habitations of the area, who were unable to send their wards to distant places for higher education. Noteworthy, some men, enthusiasts in education and social work, took principal initiative in establishing this college.MGM  from its very beginning is committed to its great motto of maintaining qualitative standard in higher education also in developing the human and cultural values of the students and to promote educational facilities of all types, including studies in arts (Humanities), Science and Commerce Courses calculated to advance education to impart best knowledge, discipline, social awareness and health and generate employment opportunities.

Concessions:- Free or subsidized studies are given to poor but needy and brilliant students. Financial help is also provided from student aid fund. A poor student who has to travel from a 10 kms distance can get conveyance allowance recently announced by UGC. West Bengal Govt. and other private institutes also offered scholarship for meritorious and poor students. Students may opt for these scholarships also.

Remedial Teaching and Enrichment of Programmes:- Academically weak and strong students are identified and special work arrangements are planned to strengthen the weaker students so that their learning ability can be enhanced. With an intention to uplift the weaker students belong to Schedule Caste, Schedule Tribe, and OBC & Minorities category.

Multigym:- MGM provides a well equipped Gymnasium and very large playground along with Badminton Court, Volleyball Court, playground for basketball as well. It is a great placement for us to note that we have a separate Physical Education Department (B.P.ED)
