About Jorhat Institute of Science and Technology - [JIST]

Jorhat Institute of Science & Technology, Jorhat was established in 1971. It is the premier technical institute of North East India. Formerly the Institute was known as Science College Jorhat established by Government of Assam and has recently completed its glorious 42 years. In the year 2008 Government of Assam, upgraded the college and renamed it as Jorhat Institute of Science & Technology registered under Societies Registration Act. The college is committed to serve the needs of the society and the nation at large by imparting state of art education and provide Knowledge and develop Attitudes, Skills and Values. The aim of the college is to develop human resources and to Empowering Quality Education in the field of Science & Technology.

The Training and Placement Cell acts as bridge between the industry and Institution to take up Industrial Training, industry visits, organizing seminars and other activities.
