Note: The aspirant who has appeared for examination whose result has not been declared at the time of admission, shall be eligible to apply for admission to the Bachelor’s/Master’s Programmes and if selected the candidate need to submit the result by September 30 of the admission year. Such candidates have to produce proof of having appeared for the examination during the Counseling process of FDDI programmes

Footwear Design and Development Institute Admission
Step 1: Visit the official website of the college and go to the ‘Admission’ tab.
Step 2: Register yourself by creating a login account with a valid email id and contact number.
Step 3: After successful registration, fill out the online application form with all the required details.
Step 4: Upload a recent passport size scanned photograph and signature.
Step 5: Pay the application fee of INR 600 (General/OBC (Non-Creamy)/GEN-EWS Category) and INR 300 (SC/ST/PWD Category) by online mode (Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Net Transfer).
Note: Candidates are advised to keep the printout of application form for further reference along with proof of payment.

Selection Criteria

For admission in B.Des valid UCEED score is accepted and are exempted from appearing in AIST. For admission in M.Des students with a valid scorecard of All India Selection Test (AIST) can have admission to the course
- Candidates who are allotted a seat will be required to pay an amount of INR 25,000 at the time of counseling/ admission to reserve the seat. This includes INR 10,000 (Non-Refundable) as Registration Fee + INR 15,000 as Advance Fee to be adjusted against the balance fee.
- The candidates will be given 10 working days from the date of reserving his seat or before the commencement of the program whichever is earlier to deposit the balance fee.

Footwear Design and Development Institute Facilities
Shoe Designing & Pattern Cutting: The PDC develops its own design collection (Last shape, concept on design, material, color, and accessories along with the prototype samples) for the industry on demand.
CAM: FDDI’s PDC is well equipped with modern software for Footwear Designing & Grading. The software used is one of the most advanced software in the field of footwear designing & grading, students trained on these software caters the need of industry.
Sample Development: The PDC is backed by the services of a well-equipped sample room, which supports transforming designs into the product. Designs developed by the PDC are tested for its fittings, aesthetic taste, proportions, and other costing aspects. The sample room also provides sampling services to those entrepreneurs who do not have in-house facilities for sample developments. Tin pattern service is also provided by the sample room.

Ans. You can download the admit card from the official website of the institute. Candidates are advised to regularly check the FDDI website for updates. Admit Cards and Results for AIST will be available on the FDDI website only. No separate communication will be sent by post.
Ques. What is the age limit to apply for admission?
Ans. The age limit to apply for admission in UG program is 25 years and no age limit to apply for admission in PG program.
Ques. Can I choose the city for giving the entrance exam as per my preference?
Ans. Yes, you can choose the city based on your choice. All the eligible candidates will have to appear for the written entrance examination at the Examination Centres opted by them. The written entrance examination is designed to test the knowledge, skill and aptitude of the candidates for the program opted.
Ques. What are the admission criteria for NRI category candidates?
Ans. 10% seats are reserved in each program for NRI/ Industry Sponsored candidates who meet the prescribed eligibility criteria. The candidates will get interviewed and the selection shall be done on merit basis.
Ques. Does FDDI Chennai provide accommodation facility?
Ans. Yes, FDDI Chennai provides accommodation facility. The institute has separate hostel for both boys and girls. The hostel has all the basic facilities such as mess, well-furnished rooms and many more.
